EUREKA SPRINGS CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
January 16, 1996
Mayor Barbara O’Harris called the
special council meeting to order, Tuesday, January 16, 1996, at 7 p.m. The
subject of the meeting is the Transit Department.
PRESENT:
Mayor O’Harris, Aldermen Jeffrey,
Riker, Watson and Earngey. Aldermen
Rubley and Seratt were absent.
ALSO PRESENT:
Don Matt, Rosemary Zieroth, Kirby
Murray, Kurt Jordan, Bruce Cully,
Charles Fargo, Lisa Liggett, Stan
shaw, Jack Muzio, Bill Freeland, Jim
Walden, Jay Miner, and clerk Lee.
Mr. Walden announced that Mr.
Graebner was unable to attend this meeting because of illness.
Mr. Fargo and Mrs. Liggett brought
copies of the budget for everyone and copies of Mr. Graebner~s ideas about the
budget. Mrs. Liggett went over the budget by each line item, and showed the
council where they had trimmed it down even more. There was a long discussion of
each line item, with the conclusion that Mr. Graebner’s and Mr. Fargo’s budgets
were close, but Mr. Fargo’s budget was $2400 more.
Mr Walden said that if the Transit
Department sends this budget to the State, we must assure them that the City
will make up any deficit, because by law, the budget must be balanced.
Mr. Fargo said that the Transit
Department will need about $10,000 in start-up money for April.
Alderman Jeffrey made the motion to
approve the budget as presented. Alderman Watson seconded. All were in favor,

adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
