SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

NOVEMBER 20, 1996

Mayor Barbara A. O’Harris called the special meeting to order at 9 a.m.

It was called to set a public hearing on the Petition to Vacate a Portion of

Summit St.

PRESENT:

Mayor O’Harris, Alderman Jeffrey, and Alderwomen Seratt, Dickens, and

Watson. Aldermen Rubley and Riker were absent.

ALSO PRESENT: David McNeaI, Don Matt, Don Young and Deputy Clerk Hulsey.

Mayor O’Harris reminded everyone to vote Tuesday, November 26, 1996,

from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Victoria Inn. This is the run-off election

for the two Aldermen’s positions in Ward 2.

The Mayor asked that before the Special Meeting got started, she wanted to set a date for a budget meeting. The Council decided that since some of them would be at Municipal League in Hot Springs through Tuesday, they would hold the Agenda-Setting Meeting on Thursday night, December 5th, at 7 p.m. The Special Budget Meeting will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, December 6th.

Petition to Vacate a Part of Summit Street:

Alderwoman Dickens made a motion to set a Public Hearing for the Petition to Vacate a Part of Summit Street for December 10th at 8:45 a.m. Alderwoman Watson seconded. All were in favor, 4/0/0.

Alderwoman Watson made the motion to adjourn. Alderwoman Seratt seconded. All were in favor, 4/0/0. The meeting adjourned at 9:15 a.m.
