SECOND SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING AGENDA

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1997

 

This agenda is for a Special Council Meeting concerning the fall Blues Festival. It will be held immediately after the first Special Council Meeting and directly before the Agenda setting meeting.

 

Due to expected inclement weather, it may have to be held in the Auditorium. Sally Riker is asking the Council to be allowed to put up a tent between City Hall and the Auditorium.

 

 

 

 

 

320          SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21ST, 1997, AT 8:14 P.M.

 

This Special Council Meeting was held after the Annual Public Transit

Hearing and a Special Council Meeting pertaining to 911 Addressing.

It began at 8:14 p.m. and it was held to give Sally Riker and the Blues

Festival permission to do three things.

 

PRESENT:

Mayor OHarris, and Alderwomen Dickens, Watson & Seratt and Aldermen

Jeffrey and Freeland. Alderman Christman was absent.

 

ALSO PRESENT: Some of the people stayed after the Transit Public Hearing and some left. It was hard to determine. Mr. Miner, Mr. Young and Clerk Lee were there. Also David McNeal, and Beau Satori.

 

 

Sally Riker, Promoter of the Blues Festival, asked the Council for three

things:

 

1. To set up a tent between City Hall and the Auditorium. The tent is to sell beer and cold drinks and give the patrons a place to get out into the air and stretch their legs.

Alderwoman Seratt made the motion to approve and Alderwoman Dickens seconded. All were in favor, 5/0/0.

 

2. To move the beer permit from Lake Leatherwood area to the

Auditorium. Alderwoman Seratt made the motion

Jeffrey seconded. All were in favor, 5/0/0.

 

3. To set up portable toilets outside. The motion and all were in favor, 5/0/0.

 

The motion was made and seconded to adjourn.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:18 p.m.
