CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS

SPECIAL CITY COUNCILMEETING

MARCH 20, 1997

Mayor O’Harris called the Special City Council Meeting to order at 8:30 a.m. on March 20, 1997 in the Western District Courthouse. The subject of the meeting was the Sidewalk Ordinance, Ordinance #1698, in regards to a replacement of native limestone with the proper mix of concrete.

PRESENT:

Mayor O’Harris, and Alderpersons Christman, Jeffrey, Seratt, and Freeland.

ALSO PRESENT:

David McNeal, Jack Holly, James DeVito, and several more citizens, Jay

Miner, Don Young and Clerk Lee.

The meeting was very short and to the point. Jay Miner, the City Attorney, said that since the HDC did not agree with the City on the concrete pour, and since the ordinance said that they had to, in order for it to be approved, there was no reason to have a meeting. The misunderstanding arose over the wording in the ordinance. There was some discussion. The motion was made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned and the vote was in favor, 4/0/0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 a.m.

APPROVED:

Barbara A. O’Harris, Mayor

ATTEST:

Mary Ann Lee, City Clerk-Treasurer
