CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS

SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

JANUARY 10TH, 2002                                                        

 

Mayor Satori called the January 10th, 2002 meeting to order at 4 p.m.  The meeting was held in the Jury Room of the Western District Courthouse.

 

PRESENT:

Mayor Satori, and Aldermen DeVito, Simon, Dozier, Harrison, and Sumpter.

 

ALSO PRESENT: Glen Strange, Bill King, Mary Jean Sell, Diane Murphy, Jean Elderwind, Kim Dickens, Bill Ames, and Mary Ann Lee, Clerk-Treasurer.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

Mayor Satori led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

The purpose of the meeting was to place Ordinance No. 1888 on all three readings and declare an emergency.  Ordinance No. 1888 is to allow the Eureka Springs Hospital to purchase Radiology and Dictation Equipment on short-term financing.

 

Alderman Harrison made the motion that Ordinance No. 1888 be placed on its first reading in its entirety.  Alderman Sumpter seconded.  All were in favor, 5/0/0.

Mayor Satori read the ordinance in its entirety.

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to approve.  Alderman Dozier seconded.  All were in favor, 5/0/0.

 

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to suspend the rules and place Ordinance No. 1888 on its second reading by title only.  Alderman DeVito seconded.  All were in favor, by roll call, 5/0/0.

Mayor Satori read the ordinance by title only.

The motion was made and seconded to approve.  All were in favor, 5/0/0.

 

The motion was made and seconded to further suspend the rules and place Ordinance No. 1888 on its third and final reading by title only.  By roll call the vote was 5/0/0.

The motion was made and seconded to approve.  All were in favor, 5/0/0.

 

The motion was made and seconded to read the emergency clause.  All were in favor, 5/0/0.

The emergency clause was read.

 

 

The motion was made and seconded to adjourn.  All were in favor, 5/0/0.  The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
