CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS

SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

JANUARY 10TH, 2002                                                        

 

Mayor Satori called the January 10th, 2002 Special City Council meeting to order at 5 p.m.  The meeting was held in the Jury Room of the Western District Courthouse.

 

PRESENT:

Mayor Satori, and Aldermen DeVito, Simon, Dozier, Harrison, and Sumpter.

 

ALSO PRESENT: Shep Russell, Dennis Hunt, Bill King, Mary Jean Sell, Bill Ames, Kim Dickens, and Clerk Lee.

 

The purpose of the special meeting was to place Ordinance No. 1883 on all three readings.  Ordinance No. 1883 is the ordinance Authorizing the issuance of a tax bond for the purpose of financing a portion of the cost of capital improvements to the Lake Leatherwood Dam.

 

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to place Ordinance No. 1883 on its first reading in its entirety.  Alderman Simon seconded.  The vote was 5/0/0.

Mr. Russell read the ordinance in its entirety.

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to approve.  Alderman DeVito seconded.  The vote was 5/0/0.

 

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to suspend the rules and place Ordinance No. 1883 on its second reading by title only.  The vote by roll call was 5/0/0.

Mr. Russell read the ordinance by title only.

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to approve.  Alderman Dozier seconded.  The vote was 5/0/0.

 

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to further suspend the rules and place Ordinance No. 1883 on its third and final reading by title only.  Alderman DeVito seconded.  The roll call vote was 5/0/0.

Mr. Russell read the ordinance by title only.

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to approve.  Alderman Simon seconded.  The vote was 5/0/0.

 

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to adopt the emergency clause as read.

Alderman DeVito seconded.  The vote was 5/0/0.

 

Ms. Dickens said thank you to the Bank of Eureka Springs for buying a half million dollars worth of our bonds.

 

Alderman Sumpter made the motion to adjourn.  Alderman DeVito seconded. The vote was 5/0/0.  The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m.
