CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS
CITY COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY JULY 26, 2005
Mayor Kathy Harrison called a special meeting of the City Council for 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, in the jury room of the Western District Carroll County Courthouse, to read Ordinance #1998, regarding waiving the bidding process to purchase a Scotty Fire Safety House, for the second and third readings, including an emergency clause, to ensure the City of Eureka Springs Fire Department does not lose a $36,083.00 gift.
PRESENT: Mayor Kathy Harrison, Aldermen Aaron Falotico, Rick Rojek, Terry McClung, Lori Weaver, City Attorney Tim Weaver and City Clerk-Treasurer Mary Jean Sell. Aldermen Robert “Butch” Berry and Beverly Blankenship were absent.
Mr. Falotico said the meeting could not be held because two aldermen had not been properly notified. (Mr. Berry and Ms. Blankenship are out of the state.)
Mr. McClung said a quorum was present and the meeting could be held.
After some discussion, Mr. Weaver concurred that all Council members had not been notified of the special meeting.
The meeting was not called to order and no action was taken.
Those present agreed to hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, during a budget workshop when all Council members could be in attendance.
