CITY COUNCIL
Mayor Dani Joy called the special meeting of the Eureka Springs City Council to order at 9:05 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, in the jury room on the second floor of the Western District Carroll County Courthouse.
PRESENT: Mayor Dani D. Joy, Aldermen Patrick Brammer, Rae Hahn, Kathy Harrison, Eric Scheunemann, Joyce Zeller, City Attorney Tim Weaver, Finance Director Yvonne Kline and City Clerk-Treasurer Mary Jean Sell CMC.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss proposed
Ordinance 2080 to increase sewer rates.
Mr. Brammer moved to discuss Ordinance 2080 to increase the sewer rates. Mr. Scheunemann seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 5/0/0
Public Works Office Administrator Amy Williams presented documentation with several rate scenarios as reflected with the water billing amounts for March 25 to April 25. (Sewer rates are set by water usage.)
After discussion of the possibilities, it was Ms. Williams’ recommendation to have a nine percent (9%) rate raise across the sewer use system.
PUBLIC COMMENTS:
Bill Earngey had comments on the service of a committee when he was a Council member in the late 1980s.
Mr. Scheunemann suggested holding a workshop at 5 p.m. before the 6 p.m. May 12, 2008, regular meeting.
ADJOURNMENT:
Ms. Hahn moved to adjourn the special meeting at 9:22 a.m. Mr. Scheunemann seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 5/0/0
