CITY COUNCIL
Mayor Dani Joy called the special meeting of the Eureka Springs City Council to order at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2008, in the jury room on the second floor of the Western District Carroll County Courthouse.
PRESENT: Mayor Dani D. Joy, Aldermen Patrick Brammer, Rae Hahn, Kathy Harrison, Eric Scheunemann, Joyce Zeller, City Attorney Tim Weaver, Finance Director Yvonne Kline and City Clerk-Treasurer Mary Jean Sell CMC.
The
purpose of the meeting was to discuss the allocation of the one cent sales tax
as provided by Ordinance 1120.
Ms. Hahn moved to discuss the allocation of revenues from Ordinance 1120. Mr. Brammer seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 5/0/0
Discussion lasted approximately an hour on projected revenues, current budget, proper allocations for the income based on state statutes and possible uses for the funds.
Ms. Harrison left the meeting at 4:38 p.m.
Ms. Hahn moved to split the one cent tax revenue with 70 percent going to the general fund and 30 percent going to street fund. Motion died for lack of a second.
Mr. Scheunemann moved to split the one cent tax revenue with 65 percent going to the general fund and 35 percent going to street fund. Ms. Zeller seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
