CITY COUNCIL
Mayor Dani Joy called the special meeting of the Eureka Springs City Council to order at 11:24 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, in the Eureka Springs Police Department Building, 146 Passion Play Road.
The regular meeting of Monday, Jan. 26, was cancelled due to an ice storm. There was no electric power to the City Hall building on Friday, so the meeting was moved to the Police Department.
PRESENT: Mayor Dani D. Joy, Aldermen Robert “Butch” Berry, Beverly Blankenship, Patrick Brammer, Joyce Zeller, City Attorney Tim Weaver, Finance Director Yvonne Kline, Mayor’s Assistant Diane Wilkerson and City Clerk-Treasurer Mary Jean Sell CMC. Aldermen James DeVito and Robert Wagner were out of town.
The purpose of the special meeting was to discuss and
vote on Ordinance 2096, adopting the 2009 budget.
Ms. Blankenship moved to give the ordinance a number (2096) and place it on its first reading. Mr. Berry seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
Ms. Blankenship read Ordinance 2096 aloud.
Mr. Brammer moved to approve Ordinance 2096 on its first reading. Mr. Berry seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
Mr. Brammer moved to suspend the rules and place Ordinance 2096 on its second reading by title only. Ms. Blankenship seconded. By roll call, all voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
Ms. Blankenship read the title of Ordinance 2096 aloud.
Mr. Brammer moved to approve Ordinance 2096 on its second reading by title only. Ms. Zeller seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
Ms. Blankenship moved to suspend the rules and place Ordinance 2096 on its third reading by title only. Ms. Zeller seconded. By roll call, all voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
Ms. Blankenship read the title of Ordinance 2096 aloud.
Mr. Brammer moved to approve Ordinance 2096 on its third reading by title only. Ms. Zeller seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
Mr. Brammer moved to read the emergency clause for immediate adoption of Ordinance 2096. Ms. Blankenship seconded. By roll call, all voted aye. Motion passed 4/0/0
Ms. Blankenship read the emergency clause aloud.
