CITY COUNCIL

SPECIAL MEETING                            MONDAY                             MARCH 29, 2004

 

            Mayor Kathy Harrison called the special meeting of the City Council to order at 5:13 p.m. Monday, March 29, in the jury room of the Western District Carroll County Courthouse.

 

PRESENT: Mayor Kathy Harrison, Aldermen Robert “Butch” Berry, Karen Lindblad, Gayle Money, Bill Ott, Earl “Bud” Umland; Finance Director Diane Murphy; City Attorney Tim Weaver; mayor’s assistant Brenda Spencer, Ada Jensen, Tom Tharp, Judy Lockhart, Ray Dotson and City Clerk Mary Jean Sell. Alderman Penny Carroll was absent.

 

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

            Mayor Harrison led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

 

APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA:

            Ms. Money moved to approve the agenda. Mr. Berry seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 5/0/0

 

 

NEW BUSINESS

1.      Discussion regarding animal drawn vehicle franchises.

Mr. Weaver said the city’s ordinance calls for these franchises to be approved in a regularly scheduled meeting. In his opinion, it would be safer for the council to delay this matter to a regularly scheduled meeting for any discussion or votes.

Mr. Ott moved to put this item at the beginning of the agenda for the regular meeting of April 12, 2004, and to apologize to those attending this meeting for their inconvenience. Ms. Lindblad seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 5/0/0

 

ADJOURNMENT:

            Mr. Ott moved to adjourn at 5:20 p.m. Mr. Umland seconded. All voted aye. Motion passed 5/0/0.
