ORDINANCE NO. 1955
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 46-89 OF THE
EUREKA SPRINGS MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING
AMBULANCE AND RELATED SERVICES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, has determined that Section 46-89 of the Municipal Code should be amended in order to regulate efficiently the charges for ambulance and related services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That Section 46-89 of the Eureka Springs Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
The fire and ambulance department is authorized to assess the following charges for ambulance and related services in the providing of emergency medical services to members of the public requesting or in need of such services:
A0425 Mileage $8.50 $8.70
A0426 ALS 1 $300.00 $200.00
A0427 ALS 1-E $375.00 $300.00
AO428 (Q3020) BLS $250.00 $175.00
AO429 (Q3019) BLS-E $300.00 $275.00
A0433 ALS 2 $350.00 $475.00
AO434 Specialty Care $525.00 $550.00
ADDITIONAL CHARGES
Motor Vehicle Crash $200.00
Out of Area Resident $100.00
Treat No Transport $200.00
Cardiac Arrest No Transport $450.00
Oxygen $20.00
Waiting time, per every half hour $45.00
Extrication $100.00
Medical formula for miscellaneous supplies as follows:
Cost of Supply:
Less than $0.50 = $1.00 plus cost
$0.50 - $1.00 = $2.00 plus cost
$1.00 - $10.00 = By 2.5
$10.00 - $20.00 = By 2.2
$20.00 - $50.00 = By 1.9
$50.00 - $100.00 = By 1.8
$100.00 - $500.00 = By 1.6
Medicare formula for medicines as follows:
Average wholesale price (AWP) of drugs divided by the amount per case, then multiply cost item by 2.85 = the allowable cost of Medicare.
The 2004 charges will be in effect until January 1, 2006, when the 2006 charges become effective.
Section 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are repealed to the extent of said conflict.
