ORDINANCE NO. 2046

 

AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING TO PURCHASE A LEAK DETECTOR FOR THE EUREKA SPRINGS, AR, WATER DEPARTMENT

 

            WHEREAS, The City of Eureka Springs, AR (“the City”) is currently in need of a leak detector to detect leaks in the city water mains; and,

 

            WHEREAS, it is believed that there is a new major leak in the system

 

            NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS:

 

            Section 1. That the City Council of Eureka Springs does hereby waive the competitive bidding requirements of the Arkansas Code Annotated and the Eureka Springs Municipal Code to allow for the contracting by the City of Eureka Springs with Fluid Conservation Systems for the purchase of an AccuCorr3000 with yellow 3rd outstation, X mic and 4.5 days of training for the sum of $47,500.00

 

Emergency Clause

 

            Section 2. That due to the belief that a major leak has recently occurred within the water system, for the health and safety of the citizens of the City; an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage by the Eureka Springs City Council and signing by the Eureka Springs Mayor.
