ORDINANCE NO. 2111

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION II PAGE 8, OF THE CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS PERSONNEL POLICY HANDBOOK TO REFLECT THE CHANGE ON FIREFIGHTERS SICK LEAVE ACCURAL RATE, CHANGING THE DEFINITION OF A "WORK DAY", AND INCREASE THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF SICK LEAVE THAT COULD BE ACCUMULATED BASED ON ACT 1828 OF 2005.

NOW BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS, THAT:

Section 1.  Firefighter Sick Leave Policy

A.  Firefighters will earn sick leave at the rate of two hundred forty (240) hours annually.  ACA 14-53-108.  The maximum accumulation for sick leave is one thousand four hundred forty (1,440) hours.  When a firefighter has accumulated the maximum hours of sick leave, no additional hours of such leave may be earned until a portion of the accrued leave has been taken.   

B.  A "working day" is defined as that period of time a firefighter is on duty within a twenty-four-hour period.

Section 2.  Repeal Clause:  All Ordinances, Resolutions, and parts thereof, in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
